February 1, 2012. Title: "Collier County Health Department and Drug Free Collier” Presented by: Rachel Kleist, B.S. Health Educator from the Collier County Health Department; Ana DiMercurio, Prevention Coordinator from Drug Free Collier; Rachel will be talking about the free smoking cessation resources available to employers, benefits of implementing tobacco-free campus policies, as well as flavored tobacco products. Ana DiMercurio from Drug Free Collier: One of the most effective ways to raise awareness is by educating the community. We will discuss the current state of affairs with regard to drug use among our youth: How many are using and what are they using? We will also share some important steps you can take to help save & change lives in our community.

January 4, 2012. Presented by: Tamre Church, Mentoring Coordinator from the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County. Tamre was instrumental in the development and growth of a local Glass and Mirror Company as Sales and Office Manager for 13 years. Following that and for the next 5 years Tamre was a leading Direct Sales Representative for the local cable company. In 1989 Tamre returned to college to complete her Associates of Arts Degree at Edison Community College and her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education at Florida Gulf Coast University where she graduated Suma Cum Laude. Her experiences within the Collier County Public School District include teaching 3rd and 4th grade as well as being a Middle School Media Specialist. Since 2007 Tamre has owned and operated her own tutoring business “Tutoring by Tamre”. This year Tamre was employed by Boys & Girls Club of Collier County as a teacher. As of August, Tamre has developed and coordinated a new Mentoring Program at Boys & Girls Club where her talents allow her to recruit, train, and support all aspects of the mentor/mentee relationship. |
